Key Stakeholders Convene to Explore Research Interventions for AMR in Nepal

GTA Foundation was proud to serve as the technical partner for the Scoping Workshop on “Exploring Research Interventions Related to Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)”, organized by the Ministry of Health and Food Safety/ VBDRTC with support from The International Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance Solutions (ICARS) on 4 June 2026 at Lalitpur. This scoping workshop was to engage key stakeholders in identifying main research problem, potential interventions, and the key stakeholders to address AMR challenges in Nepal.

The workshop brought together distinguished representatives from QSRD, NPHL, the Ministry of Health and Food Safety, the Department of Environment, the Department of Livestock Services, and leading healthcare institutions including Bir Hospital, Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital, Kirtipur Hospital and Kathmandu Model Hospital. Representatives from WHO Nepal, FAO ECTAD Nepal, and other relevant organizations also actively contributed to the discussions.
